TRAFFIC's PRIORITIES FOR PEOPLE AND WILDLIFE
The 20th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) takes place in Samarkand between 24 November and 5 December 2025.
Since its founding, TRAFFIC has played a vital role in shaping and strengthening the CITES framework. At CoP20, our delegation will bring decades of expertise to the table—advocating for stronger protections for endangered species, promoting traceability and sustainability in trade, defending the rights of indigenous peoples, and championing alternative livelihoods that safeguard both people and wildlife. Beyond providing expert analysis and trade data, TRAFFIC will actively engage with delegates, stakeholders, and media to push for meaningful, lasting change.
